Portuguese Forum Post-Kyoto

In order to prepare properly for the participation of Portugal in the negotiations of the regime that will continue the effort to combat climate change after the end of the first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol (KP) in 2012, both at the European Union and at the UN, it is important that civil society, contrary to what happened in the negotiations on the KP, becomes more engaged in the process leading to the adoption of new targets to limit or reduce GHG emissions.

In this sense, Euronatura and the Laboratório de Sistemas, Instrumentação e Modelação em Ciências e Tecnologias do Ambiente e do Espaço do Laboratório Associado Instituto D. Luiz promote, with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and EDP - Energias de Portugal, the constitution of the Portuguese Forum Post-Kyoto (PFPK), which aims to be an information center and forum for debate of the Portuguese civil society on the future regime of combat of climate change.
