The Team

Hugo Costa (President)

Collaborator of Euronatura since October 2007 and coordinator (since February 2008) of the project "Climate Change and Business Management" (www.responsabilidadeclimatica.org). Hugo has a master in Environmental Engineering from the New University of Lisbon - Faculty of Science and Technology (FCT-UNL). He took an internship course in the Department of Environment at the Facoltà di Architettura e Società - Politecnico di Milano. He has previously worked at the Department of Environment of the Municipality of Cascais; has worked as an external consultant in projects of Environment and has experience in ecological monitoring.


Ignacio García Pereda (Director)

Ignacio García Pereda is currently one of the three members of the board of Euronatura and an associate researcher since 2006. Ignacio has a degree in Forest Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, with postgraduate studies in International Forest Policy at the École Nationale du Génie Rural des Eaux et des Forêts, Montpellier, France. Since 2007 he has coordinated a project on History and Forest Policy about the forester Joaquim Vieira Natividade (www.joaquimvieiranatividade.com). Ignacio is presently doing his PhD thesis on Spanish Forest Policies.


Rita Sousa (Director)


Researcher in the Energy Unit of INESC Porto, invited lecturer of the Department of Economics at Minho University and, since 2006, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Economics of Porto in the area of Economics and Climate Change. Rita has collaborated with Euronatura in the past in the launching of the projects "Climate Change and Business Management" and “Perverse Subsidies”. She was part of the Portuguese delegation to the United Nations’ Climate Convention on Climate Change, during the Portuguese presidency of the EU Council (2007). She has a degree in Economics and a master in Economics and Politics of Energy and the Environment, and is currently coordinating the project "Ambicidades" (www.ambicidades.org). Rita is presently a PhD student in a doctoral program on Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies.

 

André Baltazar (Researcher)

Collaborates with Euronatura as research assistant in the project "ACGE - Climate Change and Business Management" (www.responsabilidadeclimatica.org). André is promoting the implementation in Portugal of the Carbon Disclosure Project (www.cdproject.net) and the participation of Portuguese companies in this database. He’s attending the Master in Environmental Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon.

 

Stefania Mattarello (Researcher)

Collaborates with Euronatura since 2009 as coordinator of the project “Mulheres Corticeiras” and  as collaborator / researcher in the project "Eca Iberia". Stefania has a degree in Foreign Languages, Arts, History and Civilization at the University Ca 'Foscari of Venice, Italy. Her final thesis was a research project on Macau and its communal identity: "The Macanese community: an approach to its identity and its dynamics.


Lidia Passaro (Researcher)

Collaborates with Euronatura since 2009 as coordinator of the project "European Digital Library of Wine and Cork” and collaborator / researcher of "Cork in the News". Lidia has a degree in Modern Languages by the University Federico II of Naples, Italy, and  developed her final thesis on Museography and Contemporary Art, with a research on the museums' creation of historical buildings.


Korinna Horta (Visiting Fellow)

Researcher at the Environmental Defense (USA), Korinna Horta has for several years proved an essential friend of Euronatura. Specialist in issues related to financial flows (Nort-South), Korinna collaborate with Euronatura in projects such as Eca-Iberia and other activities related to the world of finance.


Sara Taveira (Researcher)

Collaborates with Euronatura since February 2010 as the executor of the project EU CO2 80/50. Sara has a degree in Environmental Management and a master in Ecological Economics from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and since then she has worked with several institutions like the European Commission, DG Agriculture, the Metropolitan Area of Porto, Spain's URS, among others.

 

Fernanda Chiebao (Researcher)

Collaborates with Euronatura since March 2010 with the research topic "Cork and Architecture",  a project aimed at informing, raising awareness and promoting the use of cork in buildings. Fernanda has a degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the "University North of Paraná" (Brazil) and a Masters in Environmental and Regional Policies for Sustainability in Local Development  at the "University of Ferrara" (Italy).
